I am the first author of the Nordic countries ...Hi,
I am the first author of the Nordic countries research paper and the book "National Intellectual Capital: A Comparison of 40 countries." It is exciting to see Attainix Consulting firm expanding the usage of our data to test its own hypothesis.

Here are my answers to the questions posited in this blog:
1. The 12 years data (1994-2005) is my earlier work about the Nordic countries, which was granted a paper award from the Journal of Intellectual Capital.
2. The book mentioned above was published in 2011 by "Springer" with 14 years data, covering 1995-2008
3. The data have been (painstakingly) updated to 2010 by now. My recent work is a series of 12 booklets, to be published again by "Springer" starting the end of 2012. This booklet series explore the connection between recent global financial crisis and national intellectual capital, covering data from 2005-2010.
4. The data updating will continue as years go by.

I am thrilled to see the high correlation between the ranking of National Intellectual Capital and the electricity consumption per capita. My co-author Leif Edvinsson and I welcome further expansion of our research.

My hunch is that the correlation Attainix Consulting has obtained would be even higher, were it not for the following reasons:
a. Energy saving effort of some countries. For example, Denmark has been known for its clean transportation. Its electricity consumption is relatively low.
b. Geographical location. The freezing zone consumes more energy.

Just share my thought!

Carol Y.Y. LinCarol Y.Y. Linhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17882204357269735696noreply@blogger.com
